Star Clippers: the history
Swedish entrepreneur Mikael Krafft is a sailing lover. He founded Star Clippers cruise line in 1991, building the first yacht in the fleet: the Star Flyer. The Star Clipper, its twin yacht, was built the following year. The yachts quickly became popular and the public was there to try the Star Clippers experience.
In response to this success, Star Clippers wanted to offer a third yacht to take more lucky people on a prestigious cruise. This is how the Royal Clipper was launched in 2000.

The Star Clippers fleet
Star Clippers has three sailing ships. They are all schooners, easily recognisable by their majesty and prestige.
The Royal Clipper was designed in the image of the legendary Preussen (built in 1902). It is the largest traditional sailing ship in the world today. The five-masted ship is no less than 134 meters long. Architect Donald Starkey, known for creating beautiful yacht and boat interiors, has added his touch to give more beauty to this yacht.

The Star Clipper and the Star Flyer are twin yachts, both sailing since 1991. They are 115 meters long and welcome 170 passengers for exceptional journeys through French Polynesia. Both boats have been designed to give you all the necessary comfort. Combining tradition and modernity, every inch of these vessels reflects the charm of the sailing ship and offers exceptional comfort to its passengers.
Star Clippers launched the Flying Clipper in 2019. It is the third largest sailing ship in the world and can accommodate 300 passengers on its 160-meter length.

Star Clippers then stops in Greece, amidst the blue and white landscapes of the houses perched on the hills of the Cyclades. Finally, on the Spanish side, the company lets you discover the local way of life in Barcelona but also in the Balearic Islands.
Panama Canal
The famous Panama Canal is a shortcut between Europe and the west coast of America. Built between 1881 and 1914, it is a real attraction in itself. Transatlantic cruise
Star Clippers' transatlantic cruises take you across the ocean to the other side of the world for between 7 and 28 nights. Usually departing from Europe, you'll slowly make your way to the Caribbean sunshine for a moment of calm and serenity.

Activities on board Star Clippers yachts
The company's three sailing ships offer a variety of activities on board. Water sports enthusiasts will have a great time on the Royal Clipper, which gives you the chance to dive underwater and discover the underwater world. Take your mask and snorkel on board and discover the secrets of this unknown place. The more adventurous among you will opt for windsurfing or water skiing, defy the laws of the sea and sail on the water carried by the wind.
The company welcomes onboard various music artists from all over the world to share their unique music with you.
You can also relax around the pool and enjoy a moment of rest and serenity amidst idyllic landscapes.
Please note that children are welcome on board but there are no dedicated activities for them. There are no licensed staff to look after them.
